Re'Sean Jetson, Ph.D.

Re'Sean earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Capital University in 2015, with minors in Social Work and Theatre. He continued his education at the University of Dayton, where he received an M.S.E. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. During his master's studies, Re'Sean provided behavioral therapy and other mental health services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus for three years. He completed his doctoral internship at The Ohio State University, where he founded a Self-Care group focused on the importance of healthy practices outside academic and vocational spheres. Re'Sean attained his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Memphis in August 2022 and completed his post-doctoral work under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Becker.

Re'Sean adopts a person-centered and emotion-focused approach to therapy. He emphasizes the creation of a safe space filled with unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding, and authenticity. This environment allows clients to process their concerns fully and safely. Believing that each individual is the expert of their own life, Re'Sean serves as a "guide on the side," helping clients move towards self-actualization and reach their full potential.

Re'Sean's professional interests span a broad range of topics including identity development, multicultural issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, support for first-generation college students, trauma, self-care, self-esteem, mindfulness, anxiety, depression, emotional intelligence, ADHD, toxic masculinity, and issues specifically pertaining to Black/African-American clients.

In his personal life, Re'Sean is passionate about music, especially Hip-Hop, and enjoys creative expression, art, traveling, and binge-watching HBO Max. His leisure activities reflect his commitment to self-care and help him balance his professional responsibilities.
